(Returning students receive a $25 discount)Each class meets once a week for six weeks and includes two hours of instruction, featuring demonstrations and hands-on guidance from your instructor.
In addition to weekly classes, students have a two-week grace period at the end of the session to finish trimming, glazing, and other work—totaling 8 weeks of studio access.
Open studio hours are available throughout the 6-week instructional period:
Monday through Friday, 10 AM – 9 PM
Saturday & Sunday, 10 AM – 5 PM
This provides ample opportunity to practice outside of class time.
Students may produce up to 3,000 cubic inches of work (calculated as width × length × height). Independent Study students may produce up to 3,500 cubic inches. Additional inches may be purchased in the shop: either $50 for 1,500 cubic inches, or à la carte at $0.10 per cubic inch.
Your first 25 lb bag of clay is included with registration.
All classes are held in our newly renovated front studio, with additional access to the main studio during designated lab hours and for glazing.

Due to high demand, cancellations made at least one week before the start of class will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within one week of the start of class will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations made within 5 days of the class start date are non-refundable. Once the class has begun, no refunds will be issued. Unfortunately, we are unable to transfer credits to a future semester.

1. I will be out of town for one of the classes. Are there make-up classes or can I participate in another class on a different day?
Unfortunately, we do not offer make-up classes or allow students to attend another class on a different day. However, you’ll have access to over 40 hours of open studio time each week to practice outside of class. We recommend notifying your instructor in advance so they can help you catch up on anything you might miss.
2. I’m trying to get into a class, but everything is always sold out. Any tips?
We understand the frustration! Our classes do sell out quickly—some within seconds. To improve your chances, we suggest setting a reminder or alarm to register as soon as sign-ups open. You can also fill out our waitlist form to be added to our mailing list and receive early notifications.
3. What are the studio access hours for students?
Monday - Friday (week 1-6): 10 AM - 9 PM
Monday - Friday (grace period: week 7 & 8): 10 AM - 6 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 10 AM - 5 PM
4. I have a gift card. Can I use it for a 6-week class?
Yes! To secure your spot, please register using your credit card, especially if you’re registering on opening day. Once enrolled, reach out to us via email or phone, and we’ll refund your credit card and process the payment with your gift card. We apologize for the extra step, but this is the only way we can apply gift cards to classes.
5. I tried to register for my friend, but now the class is full!
To ensure you and your friend can get into the same class, we recommend both of you enrolling at the same time on your own devices as soon as registration opens. Spots fill quickly, and it’s best to act fast!

Independent Study is designed for students with extensive experience who have completed multiple classes at the ceramics studio and can work independently to develop their own bodies of work.
Participants have studio access Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The studio is closed on Sundays.

This is an intermediate level class that will focus on techniques and approaches to help you make some most excellent pots for your most deserving plants. We will explore various forms and vessels that are designed and fine tuned exactly for your plant's needs. We will be discussing the reasons why I make the considerations I do when deciding on the size and shape of the pot you may need.
I will also be covering some applications in texture along with oxides/washes to give a more organic look or feel, where glazes and smooth/shiny surfaces might otherwise hide those qualities. If you happen to need to make some footed planters, glazed pots for tropical plants, cacti pots, hanging air plant pots, or even pots for carnivorous plants, I've got you covered!

This class is open to all skill levels and for those wanting to get a better understanding of glaze in many facets. Students can choose to focus on either working in mid fire oxidation cone 5/6 or high fire reduction cone 10. As a class, we learn from each individual student’s pursuits and tests in order to gain more understanding of the ceramic spectrum of different clays, glazes and firings. Beginner students can expect to learn how to mix up basic glaze recipes using the minerals and ingredients in the glaze lab. Some examples of topics intermediate and advanced students can progress in are adjusting glaze recipes, the importance of water (specific gravity), tips on different application techniques, and assessing firing results of test tiles. Please have and bring a proper dust respirator which will be used during any time you're mixing glazes in the materials lab. Students will be given extruded bisque test tiles to use with their first glaze recipe test batches on the first day of class. Over the course of six weeks, students will develop a stronger understanding of their chosen glazes, the importance of glaze mixing and application to achieve desired results and how to make adjustments in further testing.

Students will learn the basics of hand-building while pinch cups, wall hangings, and other fun clay projects side by side, while also exploring surface design techniques like texture, patterns, and simple decoration. This relaxed, beginner-friendly class encourages creativity and quality time, with plenty of room for imagination.

This foundational hand-building course introduces essential techniques including pinching, coil building, slab construction, and basic surface treatment. Ideal for beginners or those seeking to strengthen their hand-building skills.
The class meets once a week for 2 hours over 6 weeks, with demonstrations and hands-on instruction. You’ll also have a 2-week grace period to finish your work independently. Each class includes access to over 40 hours of open studio time per week. -

Cancellation Policy
Due to high demand, kindly cancel one week before the start of class to receive a full refund. Cancellations in under one week of the start of class will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations in under 5 days will not receive a refund at all. There are no refunds once the class has begun. Unfortunately, we can not transfer credit to a later semester.
