Quirky Creatures

$275

In this two-day workshop, you will sculpt a playful, stylized animal of your choice. Participants will learn to construct a hollow form using slab and coil building techniques. We will build the body in stages, allowing each section to firm up before assembling the parts.

Using reference images and sketches showing front, side, and back views of your chosen animal, you will translate 2D ideas into dynamic 3D forms. The workshop will focus on pushing features and musculature from the inside and refining details through additive methods.

    • One 25lb bag of Red Calico clay per student

    • Seamstress tape

    • Wooden modeling tools

    • Brushes of various sizes

    • Scoring tool

    • Small kitchen knife
