2 Day Workshop:
Saturday, November 8th & Sunday, November 9th
-
Now offered as a Cone 5/6 workshop
Throwing large-scale work often requires centering big amounts of clay—which can be tough on your wrists and body. In this workshop, participants will learn smart, body-friendly alternatives: using slabs and coils in combination with wheel throwing to bypass the most physically demanding steps.
Over two days, Heike will guide students through a hybrid technique that merges handbuilding and wheelwork to create large vessels. The workshop includes live demonstrations of Heike’s coil-and-slab throwing methods, along with hands-on assistance as participants build and throw their own large-scale pots.
This workshop is being offered as a Cone 5/6 firing, giving participants the opportunity to explore these techniques in a mid-range clay and glaze context.
